Permission from Mt Barney Lodge needed as well as a small fee to access this route up Mount Gillies. Walk starts out through a field before entering the Mount Gillies section of the Mount Barney National Park.

Route/Trail notes:

Not always a clearly defined path need to be able to navagate. Walk starts out through a field (follow the fence line) before entering the Mount Gillies section of the Mount Barney National Park. The trail then works its way up a ridge navigating between boulders / cliff lines. Then reaching a shoulder with a large boulder and views before rising through a less well defined section due to vegetation to a cliff line with large rocks and gullies between them. Continue up to false summit and then across to the true summit before returning.
