Quite steep but concrete all the way. Amazing 360° views of the Glass House Mountains to the west and Bribie Island and the coastal strip to the east. Lots of information on what you are looking at and a great place for a picnic.

Getting there:

A distinctive landmark (fire watch tower) on the eastern side of the Bruce Highway. From the south, take the exit next to the Service Station and turn right to cross over the Bruce Highway before turning right again and following the sign to the car park.

Well signposted from the north.

Wild Horse Mountain

Route/Trail notes:

700mt and quite steep. The quickest we have done this is in 7mins 56sec up and 4mins 23sec down. Concrete the whole way. If you are looking for something else, from the bottom of the car park, turn right and head along the forest trail for a couple of minutes and you can follow a bush track up the side of the mountain. This track only takes you halfway up though.

Nice views at sunset

Real small and easy. Can be steep in some parts, as others have pointed out, but it wasn't difficult at all if you walk regularly. If you've walked through the super hilly suburbs of Brisbane (Paddington or Toowong maybe) this shouldn't be too dissimilar. Rly sick views at the top! Loved how they have lil informational boards that label the rest of the mountains and other landmarks.

Nice short track for the kids and unfit like me for a starting point of our Bush walking adventures.

Steep but a good walk up. Pause to enjoy the view. Great lookout at the top.
A word of warning - ensure car is securely locked in the car park.

Was mega steep but pretty easy. Was able to push a pram the whole way up. View from the top was amazing.

Sunset views not to be missed. This convinced even my wife's Mom (70+). Allow extra time to enjoy the panorama.

Both Mount Beerburrum and Wild Horse have these awful concrete pathways that annihilate your calves! I'd take scrambling up crumbly rocks any day.

The attraction here is, of course, the westerly view of all Glass House Mountains ranging from Elimbah up to Coochin and it really is spectacular at sunset.

Be sure to go in winter to get the ultimate sunset when the air quality is better!

Also, please take your trash with you... it isn't hard.

Did this on the way back from the Sunshine coast. Sun was setting when we reached the summit so beautiful views over the Glasshouse mountains. Quite easy walk

This is a regular training walk for me, and I enjoy taking others up. All concrete path, and steep but an amazing view at the top. Always meet lots of different types of people taking in the walk

A great start to our day! An easy walk with a beautiful sunrise.

The easiest of the Glasshouse mountains, yet probably the one with the best views. Get an excellent panorama of the remaining Glasshouse mountains from the little bungalow at the top. Great place to go to watch a sunset, doesn't take very long to walk and it's paved the entire way up.

Vonsnrub on 13 Jun, 2019

Very very steep! But only took 10 minutes to walk/jog up. An absolute must for a sunset, we got some incredible pics up here. LOTS of mozzies so take or use spray before you go.

Mountain 3 in our 6 mountain challenge, first time doing this and it has a good concrete path the whole way to the top. 9min 11 sec to the top 8min 59sec down.

Juanita on 3 Feb, 2019

came with the same day as Mt Nungung. Beautiful view and 30mins broadwalk on a proper path, slightly steep. We walked under the rain but not that so bad.

I have done this one more than once, but can’t remember the dates of any of them. Manageable even while piggybacking a seven-year-Old!
