Moreton Bay

The walk follows the old Wamuran Rail line from Beerburrum Road, Caboolture to Nasho's Park, Wamuran. There are a couple of bridges to negotiate but the fences have openings to allow walkers. There are some roads to cross with caution. Lots of tree cover and plenty of scenery.

Route/Trail notes

The route follows the Caboolture to Wamuran Rail Line easement. The surface is mostly gravel with some asphalt and rail ballast. The creek bridges are in poor state, so cross with caution. The fences are negotiable allowing bicycle riders access. The walk also passes under two road bridges - Williams Road and D'Aguilar Highway. There are also main roads to cross - King Street, Smiths Street, and Henzell Road. The grade is gradual ascent from Caboolture to Wamuran.

Comments

This was a nice easy walk although it was mostly in the open with only some patches of shade mostly on the Wamuran end. We wouldn't recommend it for summer. The first 3.5km was fairly residential. Never the less being able to get a bite to eat at Wamuran was a nice break before the walk back.
