Route/Trail notes

Starting at Queens Park Botanic Gardens you can walk as far as Spring St Park at Middle Ridge (roughly 7.5km one way depending on how much meandering you do).  There are concrete footpaths all the way with ponds, bridges, and kids playgrounds here and there and lots of picnic areas.  A good part of the walk is able to be done in shade - until you get to the last section beyond the waterbird habitat at Rangeville where there are parts you will need to walk across grass or use the footpaths beside the roads and there is not much shade there.  Dogs allowed on leash for the entire distance  (walk around the fenced waterbird habitat) and there is an unfenced dog off-leash area at Gernett Lehmann park.

Permits/Costs

Open parks - easy access to the public at any point along the way.

Comments

Nice easy flat walk along the creek. Lot of walking beside the road but also through nice parkland at times. Very cold this time of year.
