Emmet Pock is in Idalia National park whick is 113kms south west of Blackall. This is a difficult walk with steep grades up and down the gorge walls but is well worth the effort. I found walking poles were worth there weight in gold. There are four walks to do while in this park all easier than this one.

Beginning at Emmet Pocket lookout this steep meandering track leads into a gorge where the plains of the outback spread out before you—laid out like a map. Trees mark the waterways that stretch from rocks to river channels.
Getting there
How do you get to the start of the walk?
Idalia National Park is 113 km south-west of Blackall in the Gowan Ranges. Access to Idalia is suitable for four-wheel-drive only. Take the Isisford Road from Blackall for 42 km then turn left into the Yaraka Road. At the Benlidi siding, turn left and follow the ldalia-Benlidi Road for about 34 km to the park boundary
Route/Trail notes
Starting from the Emmet Pocket lookout this track will take you deep into the gorge. This track has steep grades up and down the gorge side and can be quite hard at times as the rocks crumble give way, the track can be hard to find at times.
