Kakusenki Gorge 鶴仙渓 (Yamanaka Onsen-Ishikawa Prefecture)

Japan

Kakusenki Gorge is located along the Daishoji River near the village of Yamanaka Onsen. The 1.3km Gorge runs from Korogi Bridge to Kuratani Bridge.
This is a luscious, serene walk in Ishikawa Prefecture. It is very easy and anyone can do it. Follow the river and take in the sights. There are some cool bridges along the way and some cute cafes in the forest.

Getting there

Get to the start of the hike by either driving to Yamanaka Onsen and parking at the Kakusenki Gorge carpark or by taking the train to Kaga Onsen station and taking the bus to Yamanaka Onsen.

Put the gorge into Google Maps and then follow the road where you descend into the forested section.

Route/Trail notes

Follow the river. It is literally impossible to get lost. There is only one path that is clearly defined. Continue along this path and you will see a red bridge. This is a famous bridge, I recommend deviating from the path to have a sticky beak at it and cross it as it is quite picture-esque. After crossing the bridge, return back to the hike. Continue following the path until you reach a second, older bridge. This marks the end of the hike.

There is a very cute cafe near the second bridge and a shrine. If you are free I recommend checking them out.
