Water Dragon Way

Greater Sydney

Water Dragon Way runs between Moxhams Road, Northmead and Goodin Road, Winston Hills along the eastern side of Quarry Branch Creek. The distance is 2.3km and duration of 1hr 40min return. The track is a mixture of natural earth and rocky path including some rock and wooden stairs. Walking from south to north is a consistent incline.

Maps

A (poor) map is available on the Bushwalks of Parramatta website. There are also some maps on an information board at the start of the walk and another towards Churchill Drive.

Route/Trail notes

The first section of the walk contains a shorter loop track which can be done in approx 40 mins. In my opinion, this area of bush is the nicest. There are multiple paths in this area and so it can get a little confusing. If you head to the left and cross a small creek, then head up some stairs you can exit into Ted Curtin Reserve, which has bins and sports fields. The full trail crosses over Churchill Drive and up to Goodin Rd in Winston Hills. In my opinion, this section of the walk is less interesting than the initial section, which contains more dense bushland.
