Sassafras Gully Loop

New South Wales

The Sassafras Gully loop is an excellent walk setting out from Springwood Station. The walk uses the gullies to navigate past some wonderful rock features, dense bushland and waterfalls. A nice cool walk in the shade and never too far from water.

Comments

I & my 12-year-old son started from Picnic point and finished at Sassafras gully road. Throughout the 11 km, we were close to the stream and closed it numerous times. Two great waterfalls along the way. Truly worth the hike.

Nice walk through the wet forest. A great place for bird watching. If you have lunch at Perch Ponds camping area you'll hear cascades, whip birds and bell miners. The signage is ok but should be improved in some areas.
