Route/Trail notes

From the Girakool Picnic Area (where there are free gas barbecues, picnic tables and running water) the track follows one side of the valley along Piles Creek, before descending and crossing the creek. The track then climbs up from Piles Creek to the ridge, and follows the opposite of the valley to the car park. Shortly before the end, you can access a nice swimming hole which is just off the track. There are nice little viewing platforms available along the track and you can wander through the creek at places where the water flows through to a waterfall.

Permits/Costs

Cost is $8 parking at Girrakool car park and picnic areas.

Comments

Great circular walk, only 45min or so north of Sydney. Nice swimming hole at the end (athough it's just off the track).
