A short walk to the Mt Pilot Lookout affords sweeping views over the Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park and surrounding area from the 545m summit. A great spot to catch sunrise.

Getting there

275km north east of Melbourne & 34km north of Wangaratta. From Beechworth take the Beechworth-Chiltern Rd (C377) towards Chiltern, and turn right onto Old Coach Road.  As the road takes a sharp right, turn left up Mt Pilot Lookout Road.

Route/Trail notes

It's an easy stroll up a well-made path; a rocky platform provides views on the way up to the summit.

A very easy, early-morning walk on the way to Melbourne (from Sydney). About 15min drive from Beechworth.
