Completed this walk today...amazing! An absolute must do when in Tasmania. My GPS had the Cape at 7.5k. So, the return trip ended up at 15km. The hike is relatively easy but does have a few switchbacks & staircases when descending after the initial lookouts. When you get to the Cape, the lookouts are fantastic and we were lucky enough to see seals and two abseilers on the dolerite columns. The plant life is incredible and all of the wildflowers were out really adding to the experience. This is my favourite hike so far on the east coast. On the way back, I also completed the Shipstern Bluff hike which added on another 8km - well worth doing as well.

A lovely walk with fantastic views. Great birdlife - saw pink robins (male and female), Silvereye, Superb Fairy Wrens, Tasmanian Scrub-wrens, Swift Parrot, Newholland’s Honey-eater, and the European Goldfinch to name a few. Be prepared for steps and take adequate water and clothing if the weather changes.

We loved this walk, suitable for kids, steep in parts but mind blowing views of the Tasman Peninsula.
