Elanda Point to Harry's Hut

Great Sandy National Park

Great day out, however you need to keep moving to get around. Easy walking but a little tricky as the bridge is out, you can either swim (as I did) or cross country around kin Kin creek and cross over the concrete bridge 1km west of the old bridge.

Getting there

Most mapping systems will navigate to Elanda Point. If for some reason it does not follow directions to Boreen Point and take the signed road North to Elanda Point from Lake Flat Rd.

No cost for walking. Camping at Elanda Point is available in a private campground (https://www.habitatnoosa.com.au/). Camping at Harry's Hut is available through the national park (https://www.npsr.qld.gov.au/parks/cooloola/camping.html).

A relatively easy hike that can be broken up by camping at Fig Tree Point. Ensure you take lots of water as the first 6 kms are quite exposed to the sun and the water in the tanks at Fig Tree Point is not suitable for drinking without treatment. I completed the return trip within 6.5 hours but was moving at a fast pace including jogging in parts and was very tired on the return trip. Most people would hike one way, camp at Harry's hut and return the following.
