Getting there:

Head to Caloundra and take Park Place/Landsborough Parade south. Just before the bridge at the far end, turn left into Lamerough Parade and park at the Power Boat Club, next to Woorim Park.

Maps:

None found.

Route/Trail notes:

Start from the car park at Power Boat Club and head north along the pathway. After 400m, take the boardwalk through the mangrove swamp to rejoin the pathway that takes you all the way to the Outrigger Club. From here, the path crosses the creeks and skirts the Big4 Park and Coast Guard onto Tripcony Lane. Unfortunately, you now have to walk around the apartment blocks on Maloja Avenue to rejoin the pathway on Caloundra Esplanade, where you walk along to the car park at Bulcock Beach.

Return by the same route.

Permits/Costs:

None.

Other References/Comments:

The first 2.5km is also the Golden Beach Parkrun, used every Saturday at 7am. The grassed area at Bulcock Beach is a popular evening spot to have a glass in your hand and enjoy the sunset over the Glass House Mountains in the distance.

As with all the sections of SCCP, you can do them in either direction, role one or more together, or get someone to drop you off and pick you up further along the track.

There are numerous points along the way for a swim, grab a coffee or a bite to eat. Take your dog for a swim, but check the beach entry points for any restrictions.

Comments

Walked from the end at the mouth of Bells Creek through to Currimundi today, lunch at the cafe and then an Uber back. It was a beautiful day with a soft breeze and an amazing blue sky. Nice flat walk with stunning views.

On ANZAC Day 2016, we completed a Walking Wounded charity walk of 42.2km from Pelican Waters to Cotton Tree along the then Sunshine Coast Coastal Pathway (SCCP). It took us twelve hours (including stops for coffee and lunch) and we had blisters on blisters.
So now in 2020, is an opportunity to break the walk down into smaller easier achievable sections that everyone can enjoy, including walking along the beaches, a ferry ride and will likely extent beyond Cotton Tree and include new pathways that have been created in the last three years.
This is section 2, with section 3 (Caloundra to Moffat Beach) having been created some while back.
