Route/Trail notes:

From the east or west gate at either end of the car park, follow the track towards the hill. There are a number of tracks that lead off the main track, which all lead to the top. At the top there are a number of rocky outcrops the children love to climb. From the top you can view the different tracks around the mountain that can lead you back to your car.

Comments

A short walk but with impressive views both north and south. Only 10 minute walk to the summit so nowhere near the 1 hour return walk as suggested.

Great walk. Beautiful ocean views. Easy to do with kids.
Good route for people who want to have a run.

It's beautiful in spring! If you're lucky you'll see a lizard or two sunbathing.

Lovely little stroll with beach views :)

Started along the Hakea track that runs parallel to the summit track. The open/scrub terrain was just right for some light 'scrub bashing' / rock scrambling. I couldn't resist, so I cut across to the summit track before reaching the Hakea and Summit track link. After reaching the summit, I came back down the summit trail.

Took the kids up. Was the perfect difficulty for their young legs (5, 3 and 3 years old).

Lovely little walk 30min up and back. Small gradient on a rubble surface so watch your step. Kids loved running all over the many paths and climbing the rocks.

This is also known as Emu mountain. An easy walk/run to the summit but great views 360 degrees with Mt Coolum dominating the view to the south.

Went to the highschool nearby and we had to do this walk a couple of times. It's not a bad little hike. Pretty easy as far as hills go.
