Quite steep but concrete all the way. Amazing 360° views of the Glass House Mountains to the west and Bribie Island and the coastal strip to the east. Lots of information on what you are looking at and a great place for a picnic.

Getting there:

A distinctive landmark (fire watch tower) on the eastern side of the Bruce Highway. From the south, take the exit next to the Service Station and turn right to cross over the Bruce Highway before turning right again and following the sign to the car park.

Well signposted from the north.

Wild Horse Mountain

Route/Trail notes:

700mt and quite steep. The quickest we have done this is in 7mins 56sec up and 4mins 23sec down. Concrete the whole way. If you are looking for something else, from the bottom of the car park, turn right and head along the forest trail for a couple of minutes and you can follow a bush track up the side of the mountain. This track only takes you halfway up though.

We started this walk just after sunset so it was a little cooler. 11minutes 45 seconds up and 9 minutes 16 seconds down.

Short, steep walk but well worth it for the views! Incredible 360 views from the mountains to the bay. Worth the time if you're passing through :)

A steep paved short walk to the fire watch tower. 360 degree views across the region.

Although definitely the easiest of the glasshouse peaks to climb this mountain provides the best view of the glass house mountains (in my opinion). And I have climbed every peak except Mt Coochin over the years including crook neck before climbing was banned in the 90's. This is my second trip up Wild Horse and a fitting end to my day. 5 glasshouse peaks conquered between dropping the kids off at school and getting back to pick them up. Mount Miketeebumulgrai, 199 m; Mount Tunbubudla or the Twins, 312 and 293 m; Mount Beerburrum, 276 m; & Wild Horse Mountain, 123 m.

We took our 5 yr old and 7 yr old up this small mountain on ANZAC DAY. They LOVED the adventure and couldn't believe how high they had climbed when they reached the top. Spectacular views of the Glasshouse Mtns and Moreton Bay. We all felt proud of our achievement afterwards. A great trek for beginners. Reminder to parents to supervise their kids so they don't run all the way back down in case they fall head over heels. Note to self: bring mozzie spray next time we go walking :)

Surprisingly Steeper than I thought .. I decided to check this place out one afternoon while driving back to Brisbane from the Sunshine Coast. I was dressed in Business attire, and thought it would be a simple stroll up a hill .. Nope !

Paved path all the way to the viewing platform at the Summit. The path certainly has a decent incline. Fantastic Views from the top.

To celebrate my son's 3rd birthday, we got up at 4am and drove up to watch the sunrise. Absolutely spectacular- the pick out of all the Glasshouse mountains to watch the sunrise from. The view at sunset is also worth watching

Walked up with the little one on my back. In the car park a few people warmed me that I would find it hard going and steep, but it was fine, except for the little voice behind my back asking can't I go any faster lol. Fantastic views from the top.
