Billai Dhagun Circuit

Brisbane City Council Local Walks

Billai Dhagun Circuit is part of the Boondall Wetlands, and after rain this walk can get quite wet. It is still quite an easy walk though. The name means 'Place of She-oaks', and you will see plenty of these here. There is a bird hide along the walk so that you can watch the water birds at the opening to Nundah Creek.

good little walk if you are looking for somewhere new to take your dog or want to take the kids to the environment centre otherwise it's probably not worth your time.

Beautiful walk :)

Late evening walk with Venturer Unit and had a storm rolling in so we walked at a quick pace.
Not much wild life to be seen at this time. We did see a Possum and a large Green Tree Frog.

Mosquitos in the area are quite fierce. Take repellant and wear long clothes.

Pleasant stroll at any time of the day. Nice view from the bird hide toward Cabbage Tree Creek/ Shorncliff Marina.

Nice walk, especially during the afternoon during low tide. Make sure to take enough water and a hat and sunscreen with.

Lots of mozzies!! We loved the information explaining the natural landscape around us and the secret animals to spot. The kids had fun spotting birds from the bird watching hut. Very easy walk on a well kept track!

I've done both the 2km circuit walk around the wetlands and the 8km bike ride to Nudgee Beach. Both enjoyable, not difficult being mostly flat, the new visitor information centre is well worth a look with good info aimed at both adults and kids.

We walked from the Boondall Wetlands Environmental Centre today. Everything’s looking really green. However there are a lot of dead trees along the first part of the path that we hadn’t noticed in the past. There is a lot of new undergrowth . It still looks really beautiful.

Often spot kingfishers, kookaburras, tawnies, scrub turkeys and birds of prey.

Great walk enjoyed it, the lookout was great looking out over the bay to Redcliffe.

I've seen a number of snakes along this path. Usually green tree snakes or keelbacks but the occasional odd one too. This route is more for the cyclists and tends to flood in sections after decent rain.

Nice easy walk. Had lunch next to the beach. Most Cyclists made their presence known by ringing bell or calling out so wasn't too much of a problem. Recommend hat and suncream

Woodlaz on 19 May, 2018

Easy, saw a few tawny frogmouths.

We began this walk at the Boondall Wetlands and then we reached Nudgee road continued on th the takeaway shop at Nudgee before returning to the start. This walk was 6km each way.

Ian and Sue on 20 May, 2016

We did this walk in the dark after completing the other longer walk. It was a full moon so it was easy enough. Note though that walk is actually 2 km.
