A quite easy track as it is a fire track so wide open and not really at that rough terrain. It is however a 13km one-way , so either have someone dropping you off at one location and collecting at the other. This Starts at " The Barracks" and ends at the Lookout or visa versa. Nice and quite away from all the 4WD action.
Getting there
Before you enter Calliope ( from south ) there's a big tourist sign on the Bruce Hey, simple follow this through Calliope and onto the Dawson Hwy. This does then become an almost 60km of gravel road with a bit rougher terrain as you enter the park. No 4WD required but at least an SUV or 2WD ute/SUV. Not suitable for conventional cars , do require some clearance. Some of the other tracks are 4WD HIGH clearance only ! Do take the warnings as they stand.

Route/Trail notes
Hike through open Blackbutt forest with glimpses of the Boyne Valley and be rewarded with great views when reaching the Lookout !
