Cherry Plain to Burtons Well Circuit

Burtons Well

This walk takes you along the Western Side of Bunya Mountains, passing three lookouts with views over the plains. Vegetation is dryer towards the the cliffs, with vine forests closer to the road. The path gradually ascends as you follow it in this direction. An easier walk may be to start sat Burtons Well.

Start at Cherry Plain carpark, west of Dandabah.

Continued on to this trail at Cherry Plain. This trail is also fantastic but it does get very narrow in places with steep drop offs so do take care. More fabulous views await.

Oh goodness this was beautiful, but let me suggest if you are going to waln a circuit including the road, you want to be walking from Burton's well to Cherry plain on the road. I went from Burton's well campsite then back on the road from Cherry plain and that was uphill the whole way...ouch after several kilometres hiking! Stunning walk though and I saw a black snake and a few monitor lizards, plus lots of bird species.

This time we walked from Westcott to Mt Kiangarow, then back along the road to Cherry Plain, and the rest of the way on the track to compete the Koondaii Circuit. It's a great walk.

Walked from the Paradise Carpark all the way to Mt Kiangarow and back along the road. The lookout gives a great view as do all of the lookouts along this track. Really enjoyed it.
