Brandson Saw Mill

Bellthorpe National Park

This rugged national park features open eucalypt forest, rainforest and cascades along picturesque Stony Creek. Remnants of Brandon’s Timber Sawmill can still be seen on West Bellthorpe Road. Branch Creek Road offers a moderately challenging and picturesque 4WD opportunity as it winds up through the middle of the park.
Although this is predominantly a 4wd and horse riding park , there’s nothing stopping you parking your car at a gate or side of road and walk to the destinations.

Getting there

Off the Killcoy-Beerwah Rd turn into Belthorpe Range Rd that will flow into Belthorpe West Rd. This is a Loooooooong winding , at times , narrow road up the hill.

This will then turn into a gravel road , once into the Nat Park follow to the right , drive over the Grid and just up the hill you can park your car to the side. From there simply walk / follow the 4wd track to the mill.

Route/Trail notes

Easy walk along the 4wd track downhill to the Mill , about a km or 2 return.

Just be aware of traffic as this is also a connecting Rd to Jimna ( maninly 4wd , soft offroaders and dirt bikes )

Nice walk and worth to visit the Mill Site

Comments

Drove into the Nat Park and parked my car when crossing the 2nd grid up the hill on the right hand side...from there I walked to the Mill site and back...nice walk and great to see some history on my hikes.
