Other References/Comments:

Information boards along the way and a brochure provide you with details on the flora and fauna.

As with most South Island towns, there are always numerous tracks in and around the area. In this case most notably around Lake Kaniere and of course Hokitika Gorge.

Comments

Visited Hokitika Gorge first thing this morning and this was an obvious lunchtime stop on our way out to Franz Josef Glacier. Great opportunity to get up in the tree tops and with the informative boards all around, we could relate to most of the trees and plants we had seen on our travels, but had not know what they were called.
