Route/Trail notes

Pick up the Godley Head Loop Track from Taylors Mistake car park. The track hugs the coastline as far as Boulder Bay where you can detour down to the quirky baches before a stiff climb back to Godley Head Road. Pass the historic WWII coastal defence battery and follow the track east to Breezes Col. Finish back at Taylors Mistake. Sections of this walk form the Head to Head and the Crater Rim Walkway.

• The Awaroa/Godley Head Lighthouse Cottage and Campsite have been closed since November 2021.
• Obey any closure or warning signs. 
• Care should be taken with open tracks as hazards are not always immediately obvious.
• Hazard indicators include signs of rocks having moved, cracks and slumping of the ground or rock debris at the base of cliffs. 
• Walkers are advised to remain well clear of the tops and bottoms of coastal cliffs, bluffs and rocky outcrops.
