Headhunters Trail

The headhunters trail through Borneo is there for anyone seeking a jungle adventure. Located in Mulu National park this walk takes you through some dense jungle along rivers, a secluded jungle camp, monkey bridges and there are plenty of leeches and sweating along the way.

Getting there

Fly into Mulu. You can either start from Mulu HQ or from Limbang via bus/4hr canoe. If the river is low you will be required to get out and push canoe upwards of 50 times!

Starting from Mulu you jump in a canoe for half an hour to the trail head. 10km walk on the first day where you rest at the scenic Camp 5. There are good facilities here and a refreshing dip in the river. Day 2 is the final 12km to the end where you will need to organise a pick up by locals. You can stop at the Iban tribes village if you want. Canoe for many more hours before a van picks you up and takes you to Limbang.

Permits/Costs

Mulu NP visitor permit required, imperative you have organised transportation to/from each end of the trail.

Tip: Take quick drying clothes. Don't worry if they don't dry, they will be soaked within 10 minutes of starting your walking on the 2nd day.
