From the Cascade Trail Head (3km West of Thredbo Village)Head 5km up Dead Horse Track to Eagles Nest Cafe (Top of Chair lift) Nice spot for a cuppa and some brunch, then follow 'Merritts nature trail' down, until it joins up with 'Meadows nature trail' which will join up with the 'river walk' then the final 3kms along Dead horse track back to your car...

Easy & downhill = anticlockwise. From the top of the chairlift, the track branches off to the left of the summit track. Many families with children were seen taking this option.
Moderate & uphill = clockwise. Starting from the Thredbo village chapel, follow the Thredbo River Walk for about 2 hours of relatively flat track along the stream. Look out for wombat burrows along the way. When you reach the car park on Alpine Way, the track heads uphill for about 2 hours until meeting the Kosciuszko summit track and the top of the chairlift. Stop in for a drink at Australia’s highest restaurant, but be aware that it closes early, just prior to the last chairlift down.
