Route/Trail notes

From the carpark at Town Common Conservation Park, start out along Freshwater Trail which covers 3.6km and provides access to two bird-hides.  Freshwater bird-hide is about 200m from the carpark.  Following Freshwater Trail in either direction will link up with Lagoon Trail, also 3.6km, so in total the circuit is 7.2km.  The trail is shared between hikers and mountain bikers.  There are loads of opportunities for bird watching and photography across the wetlands and salt pans.  The trail circuit is relatively flat, some sections of gravel and uneven ground, but mostly easy walking.

Comments

Started this walk from the Cape Pallarenda Car park. Lots of flies and March flies along the first part of the walk but the back end of the walk is really beautiful. Super hot even in April so go early.
