The Warrego River, a northern tributary of the Darling River, flows through Charleville where this short walk follows its northern bank.

Getting there:

From the Warrego Highway (King Street) in Charleville, turn north into Wills Street and travel 1km, parking on the left immediately after the bridge.

Route/Trail notes:

From where you parked the walk heads west along the northern side of the Warrego River to the Adrian Street river crossing and back. You can extent your walk by following the dry river bed (in season) further on to the next waterhole and beyond.

For those more energetic, there are a series of Outdoor Gym Equipment along the way.

This is another 'out west' river capable of flooding the town. To your left on the town side, is the levee built following the 1990 floods and subsequently saved the town in the floods of January 2007.

Warrego river was flowing strongly after all some much needed wet stuff.

After a day on the road from Roma, this was a good way to stretch my legs and enjoy the river landscape.
