This circuit leads through open woodland and heathland linking Mount Tibrogargan and Mount Tibberoowuccum. Interpretive signs along the track provide details of the area's special features. The Jack Ferris lookout, on Trachyte Ridge, allows for good views of the surrounding peaks. This ridge owes its name to a type of volcanic rock which forms many of the Glass House Mountains peaks.

Wonderful track! Gorgeous views of Mount Tibrogargan at points along the way. Nice shady seat at 3km mark to have a snack and water.

Great morning hike, not too many people and well worth it for the views from the lookout. Well signed so you won’t lose your way.

Beautiful walk. Didn't do the full circuit this time. Walked in an anti clockwise direction to Jack Ferris lookout, then retraced the track back to where it intersects the Caves FTR from there we walked the 4wd tracks and extended our walk to include Mt Tibberoowuccum. We chose to go up the south western track and home down the northern track back to our car in the Mt Tibrogargan carpark. Kids loved it, 3year old managed to walk it all except down the steepest parts and unfortunately his little legs weren't long enough for the final scramble up to the summit. Views still spectacular .

Nice bushwalk, not too many people. Beautiful, flowering native plants always puts on a good show coming into spring.

NatureFan77 on 8 Aug, 2020

Intended on doing the version of this track that incorporates Mt Tibberoowuccum but missed the turn and just did the Trachyte Circuit. Got to the base of Tibro and decided to give it a shot. Turned back after the first vertical climb haha.

Good walk, easy going with only a few hills and not too steep. Great views from Jack Ferris lookout, some variety in vegetation keeps it interesting. I saw a pair of red-tailed black cockatoos. I did the walk straight after rain so the stepping stones at the two creek crossings were under water - see photos. First one (I went anticlockwise) could still see the stones but the second could not. I tapped around with a stick to find them - now I have some idea how a blind person feels. Not a big problem, but that is the first time I have ever taken my boots off during a walk!

Very nice walk, we did the portion from the carpark to the jack ferris lookout and back with our 2.5 year old.

Good walk, the Jack Ferris lookout is great, mostly shaded under trees & scrub so its OK to take this walk on a hot day

We did this in two sections, turning off onto the Soldier Settlers track about a third of the way along and hiking to Beerburrum through variable bush, mainly dry Sclerophyll forest, but also fern gullies and casuarina glades. The track is good, although a bit rocky in places. We returned the same way and rejoined the Trachite track, turning it into a nice half day walk of about 20 kms. Even if you’re tired, don’t miss the Jack Ferris lookout for views across Tibrogargan, Coonowrin, and Beerwah.

A great easy walk that we joined up with the Tibrogargan Circuit to make 7.5km. The Trachyte Circuit was the better circuit - more birdlife, less people, less screaming kids & a narrower track. Make sure you head up to Jack Ferris Lookout for wonderful views of Mt Beerwah & Mt Tibrogargan.

We enjoyed this walk as it wasn’t as busy as the Tibrogargan Circuit and went through a variety of landscapes. The look out was a good spot to take in distance and landscape. Due to it being the circuit less travelled we actually saw some birdlife.

Great walk with lovely views along the way! We combined it with the Tibrogargan Circuit, very easy to combine the 2 tracks!
