Getting there:

Off the D’Aguilar Highway east of Kilcoy turn into Stoney Creek Road and then right onto Fletcher Road. Follow till you see the day-use area National Park sign on your left.

Route/Trail notes:

From the car park area you follow a track to your left that will lead around the corner to the lake. Follow the creek riverbed back and up to find other rock pools that may hold water.

For the more adventitious, you can get further up the creek, but some scrambling and rock hopping is required.

Return to the car park along the creek.

Last walk of a 10 day road trip covering 2,300km and completing 98km on 25 walks; climbed 1,200m that took 38h. Eight of the walks are new and have been loaded on this site.
Time to get back to some home comforts, as it is pouring with rain here!

The lake was a littttle dry this time of year, but this didn't stop families coming in and exploring. Decent amount of cars in the parking lot. A good grassy area to set down a picnic blanket, people sunbathing, playing frisbee, sitting by the water and painting, etc.

Beautiful swimming hole but we hiked all way up to Branch creek

An easy stroll to the lake , I also ventured across the creek as there is a faint track this leads to just around the corner and back onto the riverbed ( good when dry ) to further walk to the next small lake. Could well quite easy explore the woods surrounding if keen to
