Venman Circuit

South East Queensland

This hike has 2 trails through some amazing Australian Eucalypt forests. The Tingalpa Creek track is short, while Venman circuit takes longer, but can connect to other parks to the NW. Can be a bit slippery after rain. Three stepping stone crossings in the wet - can be a bit slippy.

Why not drop in to the Nursey/Cafe afterwards and give Shadow a corner of your pumkin scone.

Route/Trail notes

Easy walk with a few hills. We went anti-clockwise - prettiest part of the walk is first and you are warmed up for the hills.

Very well cared for picnic bbq site at the start - maybe we'll bring the makings of a cooked breakfast next time.

There is a lagoon near the link to Neville Lawrie Reserve. Simply follow the side track along the fenceline staying within Venman Bushland National Park. It will turn a corner and descend to the lagoon within 100m. Well worth the side trip.

No Cost.

Great little hike through some different types of Eucalypt forests. A good variety of native wildlife and birds if you go in the morning. Venman circuit took me about 1.5 hours, meandering along. I did connect to the trails to the NW, for some added time, which can almost double you distance through some amazing scrub. The northern section of Venman is closed, but you can go around the fence if you so desire. No sense, this closure.

Nice chill hike but more of a bushwalk, no lookouts or views but a nice walk through some bushland and past a few creeks. Did this one with Josh.

A bit too dry & hot at the time we decided to go in the midday heat of summer but we were able to see a Mama wallaby & her Joey at the end of the hike :)

The creek was flowing when we went which meant the 2nd half of the 7.5km was very muddy and boggy but it was a nice walk. Some hills but not overly hard. I'd rate as low/moderate level. Sunday morning must be a busy time as the carpark was full.

Good hike for beginners. Big hill if you go clockwise

Nice walk with some good inclines. Some stunning insects around with 4 difference species of butterflies in abundance. Just watch some of the fencing on the track. There was barbed wire on the trail from a fallen section of fence

I didn't really like it. There is not much to see. No wildlife, just a couple of kangaroos and few birds.
7.5km almost 2 hours without break.

Easy Walk.
Map suggested entire Venman Circuit would take 4 hours.
Only took 1 hour and a half with breaks.

Well maintained fire trail. Offers solitude, away from MTB.

Almost 8km to complete the circuit. This is not an easy track as indicated on this website - there’s a lot of small hills with some pretty steep sections. I’ve done easy, moderate and hard tracks & would put this around the low moderate. Lots of wildlife - wallabies, lace monitors & plenty of honeyeaters made for a good walk but a bit boring in some sections.

A reasonable walk with inclines and declines. It was dry when we went through - only stagnant water in the bigger creek. There is some birdlife, saw a wallaby and lace monitor lizard. Pack lunch and have a nice stroll.

Very dry right now, but still a nice walk. Ended up adding on a bit of the Tingalpa circuit and ended up around 9.5km

One of my first walks after fracturing my ankle. I really enjoy this walk. I'm always on the look out for wildlife .

Nice walk, a few hills but nothing to bad. Get there from the carpark off Venman Rd. Well marked track and plenty of wildlife.

Awesome

Not too much to see here but it is a well maintained track and a good distance.

Nice piece of bush

Nice walk on a still afternoon after the rain. Would be less nice in the middle of summer.
Mostly She-oak and eucalyptus with gullies of fern lining the creeks.
Great bbq facilities also.

Got lost trying to find the lagoon. Ended up at the quarry. Hardly any wildlife at all.

Lovely walk, nice little creek crossings after some rain.
