Coomera Circuit

Lamington National Park

This track showsoff some of Binna Burra's best assets and is one of the prettiest walks in this section of the park. The waterfalls are at their best after rain. The track does cross over the Coomera River several times and crossings can become tricky if water levels are high.

Route/Trail notes

An easy trail to walk. Can become hazardous especially after rain. Some areas along the Border track have numerous exposed roots. The walk can be extended to include the Hobwee Circuit if you also want some views!

Did this hike today in overcast and wet conditions with fine rain the last 7 klms. My gps watch said 25klms. Easy hike but long. Didn't have any problems with leeches only had one. Gave the socks and boots a good spray first with aeroguard and bushman's. Loads of waterfalls pumping and we counted around 20 Creek crossings of coomera Creek and its tributaries. Started in the dark at 5am and finished at midday.

Steve and I stayed in Standard Tent 91 which was on sale for $70pn. We liked it because it has its own fireplace! We did the Coomera Circuit when there had been not much rain for weeks. Consequently, there were no leeches. Yippee! There was still plenty of water though on all the falls. It was a very pretty walk, but I still prefer the ridge tracks. We didn't see any Lamington Crayfish, although we looked hard for them. It was probably too dry.

Closer to 19km. Took just under 5 hours. Minimal breaks

Did the Coomera Falls circuit today anti-clockwise and thought that was the best way to do the circuit. The return half of the walk is the border track which doesn't have many sights of note. While we were still fresh and feeling good we got to see all the waterfalls along this trail. They are spectacular and just when you thought you had seen the most beautiful of them all, another one presents itself around a bend. Highly recommend this one for hikers of moderate fitness due to the distance. We did the 18.4kms in 4h 54min with a stop for morning tea and stopping for photos of all the waterfalls.

Well worth the 7 hours journey through the rainforest. Multiple picturesque creeks and waterfalls to stop at and a great outlook towards the Gold Coast towards the end of the circuit. If you are looking for a good full day walk in Binna Burra this is one for you!

Tour group, took 8 hours, very muddy, lovely waterfalls.

Waterfalls, mud, creek/river crossings and more mud! This circuit took me just under 5hrs with a lot of photo stops for fungi and waterfalls. The track is very muddy at the moment but that was half the fun! My boots had to come off for a few water crossings as the water is flowing quickly and it’s still up in some sections. A really great walk to experience the magic of Lamington NP 🥾🌳🍄

An absolute stunner of a walk - well signposted and a gentle gradient so not particularly difficult. At the moment it's extremely muddy though so be prepared to traipse through a lot of mud, and watch out for slippery rocks in the river crossings. Well worth it though for endless waterfalls, several spectacular viewpoints and lush and varied scenery.

Wear good grippy shoes if doing this walk after heavy rain, as the creek crossings can be very slippery. Also be prepared to walk through lots of mud. Gorgeous scenery.

Track was boggy in sections, but manageable. Lots of crayfish in the pools and a few on the walking tracks. Saw a dingo on the track near Dragoon Bird creek.

Another beautiful walk! We did this walk anti-clockwise in 6 hours. It wasn't a hard walk, just long. The first half of the walk had plenty of waterfalls & creek crossings. The track was a little muddy & had lots of tree roots & rocks. A couple of sections where quite narrow & others slightly blocked by fallen trees. The first half of the walk took 4 hours, as we stopped to enjoy the scenery, take photos & look for blue crayfish...we saw quite a few! The 2nd half of the walk was back along the border track. The return trip only took us 2 hours as it was mainly a rainforest walk & the track was a lot wider & smoother.

Great walk, easy grade. Plenty of mud about and some crossings were submerged, but overall the recent rain made the falls and scenery breathtaking.

Completed anticlockwise which was a nice change from the usual direction. Completed after abundant rainfall. The track was quite muddy and water covering the track in many areas. Creek crossing were quite high, with one only being able to be crossed by wading in the knee high water, the rocks for crossing were underwater. A beautifully diverse track with stunning waterfals and lots of amazing wildlife to be seen if you walk quietly.

Spectacular! I have never seen so many waterfalls in my life. The creek crossings weren't particularly difficult however I would not attempt it after heavy rain. I was grateful to be wearing waterproof boots for this one. We saw plenty of wildlife including Lamington Spiny Crayfish. It took us 6.5 hours at a leisurely but steady pace. Easily one of the most beautiful walks in SEQ.

This is a spectacular walk especially for those who love waterfalls. There's numerous waterfalls with the first at the Coomera Falls Lookout where you can take in a beautiful view from high up on the viewing platform, with a cool, misty breeze sweeping up from the gorge to cool you. You will came across streams and creeks to cross and hop over and many falls of all drops and types among lush, green rainforest. This is quite a shaded hike which was welcome on a warmish spring day. As there had been a bit of rain in the preceding days, there were numerous leeches as well as a red bellied black snake sunning itself on a sliver of sunlight on the walking track. He was slow to move and we waited some 20 minutes or more for him to slink off into the leaves and ferns beside the track before we could pass. This is not a difficult walk, but, it is quite long.

Really enjoyed this walk. 5 hours going at a leisurely but steady pace. Never particularly difficult, fully shaded, fun scrambles over creeks. Really well set out. Even the uphill doesn't feel hard when you're following a bouncing creek.

Marcus coleman on 17 Oct, 2021

Very pretty creek walk with some interesting creek crossings. Quite long at around 18kms circuit starting at the car park.

Finally did the whole thing. Beautiful!

sarasvati on 11 Jul, 2021

An easy circuit with stunning scenery. I don't think I've ever seen so many waterfalls and streams in one hike. Absolutely beautiful after recent rain.

Amazing waterfall after waterfall, rarely a time you can’t hear running water
