Getting there:

When travelling on the Landsborough (Matilda) Highway and approaching Augathella turn into Main Street (signposted) at the BP station. Follow for 1km and the Park is on your right.

Route/Trail notes:

Technically, the walk along the levee starts at Biddenham Road (Old Tambo Road), where it crosses the Warrego River, but most people walk across Meat Ant Park and up onto the levee there. Turn left and follow this higher vantage point as far as the end of Main Street and back.

Meat Ant Park is a well equipped park and wheelchair friendly. Learn about the Meat Ants and some local history of the small town of Augathella.

Stopped here a couple of times over the years, but did not realise there was a walk along the levee.
