Comments

Added this to the end of our Mt. Mitchell walk as we still felt energetic. Walked in the rain and got thoroughly soaked all the way!

There hasn't been any rain so the creek was dry. Saw pademelons, a lyre bird and a huge goanna. The walk ends at the West Gap Creek picnic area which looks like a nice place to visit for a picnic. There were a couple of trees down on the path and one area where the ground had been washed away exposing deep tree roots - I spent a lot of time exploring there! 6.45 kms in 2 hours (including a few side quests down the dry creek bed and a brief stop for a sandwich)

Very easy casual stroll. Enjoyable walk. The only downside is you can hear the traffic on the road nearly everywhere on the track.

Great walk on a very busy day. Nice and cool in the rainforest.

After finishing the Mt Mitchell climb I still felt I had some juice left in the tank. Jogged to the end then walked my way back. Good for a picnic at the top carpark if you start from the crest carpark.
Great walk for the unfit, young or elderly and anyone in between.
Beautiful surrounds with some wildlife to be found.
I saw 3 pademelon wallabies hopping about, a potoroo, birds and lizards.
Can imagine how much better this would be after a good soaking of rain.
