Route/Trail Notes

Initially the walk commences with a slow incline from the walkers camp to the ridge line behind the camp, This is not well signposted which is a common theme on this walk, The trail then leads down through the rainforest into Pile valley, the trees here were harvested in the1800 and early 1900s as their borer-resistant timber was popular for wharves and jetties. From Pile valley it is a long slow incline to the top of the ridgeline before  the dowhill into Lake  McKenzie

Comments

Fantastic Beautiful place
Day 2 Central Station to Lake McKenzie (14 km) lovely walk through the rain forest, long smooth inclines and just strikingly beautiful scenery Overnight at the walkers camp at Lake McKenzie, The camp appears unkempt but once in it is well laid out ,no potable water at Lake McKenzie except the lake itself, Sunrise over the lake well worth the early start.
