When someone asks me about doing this climb I describe it as “the perfect mountain” because it is a perfect amount of challenge and ease. For me there are only 2 very small sections that make my heart freeze abit but the rest is just perfect fun scrambling it’s actually quite easy but a good workout. Views are completely worth it. Beautiful mountain

First two bits are quite steep, but after that its a fairly easy scramble (was passed by both kids and people in their 70's that day). Go in the winter and early in the morning as it is very exposed and gets very hot in the afternoon (including the rocks you're touching)! Drank about 3L of water from when I started the hike to shortly after finishing. Would definitely not do the hike unless it hasn't rained for at least 3 days. It is definitely far easier on the way down than it is on the way up.

One of the first Aussie mountains I ever climbed. Inexperienced at the time, I still managed to climb it with my relatively experienced boyfriend. It’s my favourite to climb. It is mostly climbing rock faces which is what I enjoy rather than hiking. Sunburn risk is real here when climbing in summer. The views are stunning.

Solo climbed this today and bumped into a very helpful regular climber of this mountain. He kept convincing me.the climb down was easier than the climb up. He was right.

This is an actual climb, rather than a scramble (in my.opinion). Patience, confidence and being physically fit are key to climbing this. I'm ~114kg and 6'1 managed to reach the summit which was a great view.

Chicken rock is probably the second hardest part of the climb (where most people tap out), the hardest part in my opinion was the sheer cliff where you're trying to find your way up.

As my first time up, I used the bump in ground slide down method. Indoor rock climbing doesn't really prepare you for going down things, only up. So I had less issues going up, more issues going down and finding my footing/trusting my foot holes without seeing them.

Will come back and do again with a group who are more experienced as I think it would make it easier.

Overall, it is not an easy scramble to the summit and if you're afraid of heights, maybe give this a miss until you.build confidence from bouldering or indoor rock climbing.

This walk is listed as ‘Very Hard’, I wouldn’t call it too physically demanding though, especially if you’re taking it slow. It’s less physical fitness and more confidence in your footing and ability to rock scramble. A good climb! Go barefoot for extra grip.

Climbed solo. Great experience, the first section would be the most difficult then gradient is better afterwards. Definitely need right conditions for a safe climb.

This was tough, the initial walk was quite easy and flat then becomes more difficult once you start to ascend the mountain.

I found “chicken rock” to be the easiest part of the climb however the next part almost vertical on the smooth rocks was quite challenging once over that hump the rest wasn’t too difficult to climb up.

Coming back down was especially difficult as it is very slippery, everyone else was sliding down on their butts however as someone with an intense fear of heights staring straight down while sliding was extremely off putting and mentally challenging.

Definitely recommend doing this with another person who has free climbed before. Most people you meet on the mountain are happy to help, if you do get stuck or are struggling.

I’m not an experienced climber and it took about 3.5 hours return.

This mountain involves a short hike from the car park to the base of the mountain and then rock climbing the whole way up. Some parts were almost vertical but there are a lot of good hand/foot holds.
I have done Beerwah previously and I found Beerwah WAY WAY scarier.

Tips: climb early in the morning, take sunscreen, and HEAPS of water. bug spray is a must as mosquito's will get you first then bugs are thick and swarm at the top of the mountains.
Be agile and good at free hand rock climbing, ensure you are not afraid of heights, wear well gripped shoes or be prepared to go barefoot in some areas. Not recommended for inexperienced climbers.

Views are unreal though, worth the climb. I've made the trip up several times now.

I preferred Beerwah to Tibrogargan, however I climbed Tibrogargan straight after Beerwah and was perhaps slightly tired having never done scrambling. The view from the Summit was great. The first part was definitely the most challenging. Started getting warm on the rock around 9, so id recommend doing it early. Mozzies were horrendous so definitely take spray if you are prone to being eaten.

A lot of people are quite casual about doing this hike but if you are not sure footed and are nervous about heights you may find it quite frightening.
I recommend taking flexible soft soled shoes as although supportive boots are good for the loose uneven trail at the bottom of the mountain you may find them an unstable hindrance once on the rock face.

Tibro is a challenging climb but well worth the effort. It isn't for the faint of heart - most of the trail requires scrambling and there are few flat ledges large enough for several people to rest. It starts with an uphill trail until you reach 'chicken rock', which is the steepest portion of the climb. From there, it is more of a scramble than a climb, but it doesn't get easier if you're afraid of heights. At the summit, continue through to the other side for great views over the sunshine coast.
Good fitness levels are needed for this climb and wear good running/approach shoes with decent grip (no hiking boots!). Don't attempt this in the wet. I was glad to have had some rock climbing experience before tackling Tibro and I would recommend doing this hike/scramble with someone who has climbed before.

My aunt and I often climb this mountain early in the morning, before lots of people arrive.

The climb begins as an increasingly strenuous bushwalk which begins as a leisurely stroll before progressing into steep rock hopping. At the end of this, the first wall is reached. There are a few ways to go about this; most people seem to gravitate towards the steep, confined cleft between the walls, but there is an easier, alternate way around to the left. Climbing up to the right is also an option.

After this, navigation is simple; generally it's easy to follow the erosion. Seldom-touched rocks are black, but most of the climbing route is white, and a bit slipperier and more scarcely vegetated. Handholds and footholds are not difficult to find. As you climb, the gradient lessens somewhat, and it generally gets easier the higher up you go (not considering exhaustion).

There are always plenty of handholds and footholds. So long as you concentrate on placing your hands and feet and deftly maneuvering yourself, there is little risk of falling. I'd argue that Tibrogargan is easier than Beerwah, due to Beerwah's very slippery nature (on the usual route, at least), and its smaller amount of solid holds like there are on Tibrogargan. Certainly, Beerwah is more technically challenging.

In summary, Tibrogargan is a fun climb and a good way to exercise your whole body. It can be done reasonably quickly and easily with practice.

Did the first part to the first rock face on the market track ... didn’t even make to chicken rock? Was about 10am way too hot.. very steep track with lots of loose rocks .. the track ? well it marked but certainly not smooth paving . Essentially just stepping from rock to rock...you’re legs will burn and you’ll be puffing if youre not fit
