Route/Trail notes:

The walk starts from Rex Creek Bridge, which is at the end of the Baral Marrjanga walk from the bus stop

Head left along the circuit and follow the paved and well trodden path. The walk is well signed with lots of information about the park and the flora and fauna. At points there are two turn offs to see Rex and Wurrmbu creeks, the latter being about 200 metres return.

Permits/Costs:

There's no footpath or pedestrian access from the car park to the Gorge. The road leading to the Gorge is narrow and dangerous. A shuttle bus service runs every 15minutes, for which a fee is payable ($9.10/adult - 2016).

Completed this walk on a day trip to Mossman Gorge whilst holiday in Port Douglas. Absolutely gorgeous spot and easy walk.

Did this walk a few times while in the area. It’s easy enough to walk in from the carpark and complete the short circuit twice before returning to the carpark. It’s a beautiful track - plenty of birdlife and butterflies. It was raining most of the time but under the canopy it was just amazing - cool and luminous green.

Beautiful and easy walk in the enchanted forest!
There is a small detour to a creek, which I highly recommend… there was no one there, it’s a sandy creek perfect for a swim.

Mossman Gorge is beautiful. We walked the circuit on a rainy afternoon in a couple of hours, we were pretty wet by the end, but it seemed right for a rain forest walk.

Lovely walk with Karen on our visit to Mossman Gorge when staying in Port Douglas. Pretty easy track but only passed 2 couples along the way

Suprisingly quiet (most people seem to only go as far as the swimming area), some beautiful spots along the way.

Not many people were walking the circuit the day we were there, so we got to enjoy the rainforest to ourselves. It was an easy walk, with our 5 mth old daughter in the carrier.

We stopped off at the swimming area on the way back, lots of people there having a dip. Water was icy and refreshing!

A note about the bus as we were a little confused initially... You pay about $25AUD for two adults and it takes you to the start of the tracks. You can walk to the start of the tracks along the road from the info centre, I think we were told it's 7km (?).

Amazing

A nice walk and place for a swim. If you want to save time take the bus to the start, otherwise it's an extra 4km each way. The rock pools are very popular with tourists. The rest of the circuit is not as busy.
