Route/Trail notes

This is mostly flat, with a couple of small gullies and passing beside old rail road bridges. This is a very exposed part of the walk so would not suggest on a hot day. Some bird life, lovely looking at the surrounding mountains.

Comments

Completed this walk on a beautiful August day. It is definitely starting to get a lot hotter on the trail though so definitely one for the cooler months. This section of the BVRT is largely right next to the Brisbane Valley Highway so not as peaceful as some other sections. Esk is a great spot for lunch and exploring the shops and Ottaba has the Llama farm. There really isn’t any access point here except for the locked gate directly opposite the Llama farm which is just before the old Ottaba station if you are coming from Esk.
