Atrax Circuit

D'Aguilar National Park

Take a short walk through a wet eucalypt forest. Look closely at the forest floor and notice the ferns, mosses and fungi that thrive in the moist environment. Glimpse inside the trunk of a brush box Lophostemon confertus, a former giant of this species-rich ecosystem.

Getting there

From Samford follow Mt Glorious Rd till you hit intersection , turn left and look out for the sign to trail / car park on left hand side.

Small but unforgettable track!

Like everyone else we walked this track in conjunction with the Mt Nebo Lookout Track. Nice and easy.

Did this as part of the Morelia Track. Not too difficult and we just combined it on the way back to walk a different way to the car park. A few steps but nothing too hard.

did this after completing morelia circuit.

I added this one on to the Morelia track on the way back. It was a nice short addition.

Another visit, a lot drier and enjoyable this time.

750m return track that took us about 20min. It was very muddy after the heavy rainfalls over the Easter weekend. The longer track leading off from this circuit was closed off when we were there - undergoing repairs until the end of April 2015.

Combine with the Morellia track and Mt Nebo lookout to make for a great walk.

Nice addition to Morelia Walking Track. Creek under bridge was running (though barely).

Grumps on 24 Feb, 2014

Heaps of interesting moss growth. When arriving back in the car my friend and I were covered in leeches. Good idea to check for them after the walk and before you start driving :-|

rob.bushman on 10 Mar, 2013

A few steps and steep, but only took about 12 mins.

A great little extension to the lookout track.
