Getting there:

Park the car at the Barron hydroelectric station and walk backward for 50 meters until you find the dirt road going down to the river.

Route/Trail notes:

You need to climb, scramble and swim to complete it. Some steps can cost you your life so experience and fitness are a must. Technically, it is nothing that a mountaineer from the Alps has not done before. I would say is an entry-level to Alpinism.

This route crosses private land so permission must be obtained before walking it. It has the additional risk of unexpected flows coming down the river. This route must not be walked without considerable experience, careful planning and thorough risk assessment.

All this information only tries to prevent unresponsible hikers to get into a type of hiking that is not common in Australia. Also as the best point is that this hike is likely to be one of the best hikes in the whole Australia. Beautiful scarped scenario, enjoyble and thrilling short route.
