1262m
Maximum Elevation
167m
Total Climb

Getting there

From the gates of Zion National Park, drive about 7 miles back towards Cedar City. Coalpits Wash will be signed with a small parking lot to the right of the road.

Maps

All Zion maps, they can be bought in Springdale.

Route/Trail notes

From the parking lot just enter the gates next to the highway. A well defined path leads out of the canyon. You follow the path and if lost just follow the canyon until you get to the first campsite. A good place to set up is here, and then you can climb up to the buttes to the left, do some bouldering in the field, or follow the canyon creek up to the left

Permits/Costs

To camp you will need a permit from the Zion National Park office.
