Route/Trail notes

Leave Belesta by walking down rue du pont d'eglise and cross the river l'Hers. turn left and follow the road that generallyt hugs the river. At some points you will continue onto walking tracks where the road ends. Keep walking as the river takes a fairly sharp right turn after l'Aguillon and continue on mailny footpaths looking for the red and yellow trail markings. eventually, these will take you up a steep narrow road and then left onto a footpath through forest. Continue uphill and eventually you will emerge in a small hamlet and then continue up a narrow road to a lovely church and graveyard and world war one memorial with views to the mountains. continue along a footpath and eventualy emerge onto a narrow, very quiet road. walk along this untli you get to a sign for Vitrac. Turn right and walk into the hamlet. You will find a lovely little church and another war memorial. Continue straight out of the hamlet, along the back of the last house and into a field where you will see a well constructed ruin worth a little explore. Go into the forest and look for signs of the overgrown forestry trail. onver on this, stay on it and continue downhill. eventually it emerges onto another narrow road. Cross this diagonally and join another track on the other side. follow this until you emerge on  road just before the main road that runs through Belesta. Cfross this and head down a path on your left and follow the dirt road with greatr views of the mountains, back into Belesta.
