Valley of the Waters

Blue Mountains National Park

Venturing into the canyon of the Valley of the Waters along a slippery winding track, this walk demonstrates the beauty of the deep valley of Wentworth Falls. This walk explores the upper section of the track as far as Wentworth Pass. The walk passes several waterfalls, a great highlight especially in early morning when the falls form a mist over the valley.

Getting there

Start at the Conservation Hut, Wentworth Falls.

We’ve walked this track twice as part of the Wentworth Pass track - once each way. It’s a really tough walk back up because it seems to go forever. Seeing the waterfalls is so worth it though. Really awesome.

The plan was to do the harder Wentworth pass trail but it was closed due to rock falls. We decided to do the Nature track which is a 4 KM medium circuit. It is a beautiful trail with a few creeks and the excellent Empress falls. Marking needs to be improved as we took the wrong way towards the Leura golf course. Thankfully it was not too long and returned easily. We were also lucky (?) to spot a snake and a few birds.

I think this is the most waterfall dense bushwalk I've been on. Simply amazing. Try to go a couple of days after the rain.
