Rosewood Loop

Getting there

This National Park can be accessed from either Kyogle or Murwillumbah. Follow the signs from either the Summerland Way north of Kyogle via Wiangaree or the Murwillumbah-Kyogle Rd. The park is 38km west of Murwillimbah and 28km north of Kyogle. The Sheepstation Creek Campground is located closer to the Kyogle end of the National Park.

Route/Trail notes

This walk begins by taking the Palm Forest Walk past the side track to Brushbox Falls and along the Booyong Walk. The Rosewood Loop is about a third of the way along this 10.5km track. It will take you up the side of the hill to your left, and then back down again further along the Booyong Walk. Turn right and follow the tra k back to the camp ground.

Beautiful walk, the creek was a lovely place to stop for a snack and rest. The trail isn't obvious in places and there were fallen trees to climb over but overall an excellent walk.

Beautiful walk, palms, ferns, wildlife and not many people. Make sure you keep an eye on the track! In some parts the track veers off randomly and then stops. Make sure you back track and stay on the main track.

Nice walk, worth it just to see Brushbox Falls. Not too many people around.
We had to enter the park from the western side of Sheepstation Creek campground, as Tweed Range Scenic Drive is closed for repairs until October 2018.
Saw three big goannas at the campsite after we finished the walk.

We accessed this track by walking from the Forest Tops National Park, making it quite a long walk. The track didn't look very frequently used. We saw a goanna along the way that definitely wasn't used to people. I don't know who got the biggest fright.
