Route/Trail notes:

Walk starts at Wollomombi Falls Picnic Area and sign posted to the right. The track is well defined and first passes Wollomombi Main Falls Lookout before continuing to Checks Lookout. From here the track is more rugged and steep as the pathway zigzags down to Chandler Viewpoint.

Return by the same route.

There is an indication that the track continues on down to the gorge floor, but this has not been investigated.

Permits/Costs:

None.

Other References/Comments:

There are numerous other walks including Wollomombi Walk and Edgars Lookout that can be accessed from this location.

Overnighters can stay at Wollomombi Campground (fees apply).

Comments

A little harder than the other walks in the area, but with three viewing areas, each with a difference angle on the gorges and falls it is well worth it.

Great walk to amazing views! The walk to the Gorge Lookout is easy, however I would rate the Chandler Walk as medium. The track is easy to follow but it is not paved & there is a lot of downhill on the way in, so expect a bit of a climb on your way back. The track is also a little narrow in places but nothing too crazy. The view at the end was breathtaking!

Phenomenal views of a completely unique landscape. Would highly recommend completing, especially if doing Waterfall Way!
