Blue Gum Loop Track

Getting there

Follow Salisbury Road, from Dungog, taking care when the road turns left not to continue straight ahead to Chichester Dam. Follow this road all the way until it turns to dirt. At this point, there is a choice of three dirt roads that you can take. Take the road on the right that leads to the William's River Day Use Area.

Route/Trail notes

This track begins at the William's River day use area and takes you through rain forest. There are great views over the William's river from metal bridges, a rock pool, and a great swimming hole more towards the end of the track. The track takes you back to the road, and you walk a short distance before arriving back at your car. (If you're doing the longer Rock Crossing Track, it will inlude this shorter loop.)

Nice loop walk - but worth continuing down the Rocky Crossing trail at least as far as Pool of Reflections

This date was the 2nd time we walked the Blue Gum Loop. This particular time we also did the Rocky Crossing Trail.
BG is a nice loop which crosses the Williams River with some steel bridges, very pretty, particularly after rain when the river cascades dramatically.
Would be a do-able track for children as it is a well established trail, clearly signposted and pretty.
Don't forget to bring your DEET or repellant of choice- leeches abound after rain.

This is a nice easy walk. We particularly enjoyed the view over the River. We completed it along with the Rocky Crossing Track, which was much nicer.
