Echo Sugarloaf

Short moderately steep walk

Environmental Walkway

A wonderful opportunity for bird watching, as the foreshores of Tin Can Bay can be explored via the 'environmental walkway'. This allows visitors to observe the inhabitants of the foreshores in comfort and without disturbing their natural habitat.
There is an excellent environmental walkway which runs along the foreshore of Tin Can Inlet. A well maintained path through the foreshore bushland with raised wooden walkways. There are lots of detailed signs explaining the flora and fauna, with a specific Foreshore Bird Walk with photos for identification purposes.

Echo Point to Scenic World via Giant Stairway

For a memorable day out in famous Blue Mountains National Park that takes in renowned views, try the easy walking track from Echo Point lookout to Scenic World via Giant Stairway. Pack a picnic and round up the family for a day of magnificent sights, fresh mountain air and unique history on this iconic walk.

Gaze at the scenic vista before descending the valley via the 800-plus steel and stone steps, originally constructed in 1909. Marvel at the fabulous Three Sisters from the ground up. From here it’s an easy stroll along Federal Pass to Katoomba Falls.

Arriving at Scenic World, you might be tempted to ride the historic Scenic Railway to the cliff top. Originally built in the 1880s to carry coal, it’s the steepest railway of its kind in the world and tilts at a whopping 52 degrees. Just remember, the last train up is at 4.50pm, so give yourself plenty of time to reach the station.

Ellinjaa Falls

Ellinjaa Falls are picturesque falls that are part of the Waterfalls Circuit along with Millaa Millaa and Zillie Falls. Enjoy the sound of the water rushing over a series of lava columns and watch for turtles and platypus. The falls are a great spot for swimming with a little ledge hidden behind the falls that you can sit on and take in the rainforest scenery.

Escarpment Track

A quite easy track as it is a fire track so wide open and not really at that rough terrain. It is however a 13km one-way , so either have someone dropping you off at one location and collecting at the other. This Starts at " The Barracks" and ends at the Lookout or visa versa. Nice and quite away from all the 4WD action.

Eddie Kornhauser Recreational Reserve

Flood plain parklands with dog off leash area, tidal water ponds and access from different neighborhoods. Network of concrete pathways.

Emu Mountain (Mt. Peregian)

An easy family walk up this hill with great views of the Sunshine Coast.

Escarpment Walking Track

Pass Chaelundi Falls. The first 6 km of the track is easy-medium. Much of the track is grass but isn't too hard to distinguish. Much of this area consists of tall gum trees etc. with blade grass below. The area is regularly maintained with controlled burning. Making the grass nice and fresh. The 9 km includes walking the last three km to the rest area continuing on the escarpment track. However the rest area can also be reached via Jordan's Trail which you have to cross. This trail is 1 km shorter to the rest area. The final three km of the escarpment track is rougher. There is evidence of echidnas raiding ant nests in many places along the track. Also leaves from the surrounding she oaks and sticks covering the track leaving the track quite loose in many sections. Walking the track in this direction includes much of the track being an uphill grade - particularly the last two or three km. You can return via the road which adds another 5 km to the track, or via Jordan's Trail, until you reach the escarpment track again, and then turn right to get back to camp. This walk would be a total of 17km and takes approximately four hours.

Emmet Pocket

Emmet Pock is in Idalia National park whick is 113kms south west of Blackall. This is a difficult walk with steep grades up and down the gorge walls but is well worth the effort. I found walking poles were worth there weight in gold. There are four walks to do while in this park all easier than this one.

Emmet Pocket walk—4.4km return (Allow 2–3hrs)
Grade 5
Beginning at Emmet Pocket lookout this steep meandering track leads into a gorge where the plains of the outback spread out before you—laid out like a map. Trees mark the waterways that stretch from rocks to river channels.
