Mount Beerburrum

 (Sunshine Coast)

This climb is only hard because it is fairly steep. it's a concrete path all the way and only 700m in total. walker of all ages were climbing the day we went, as young as 3-4yrs of ages.Beautiful views.

Getting there

Follow M1 "Bruce Highway" north from Brisbane for 55kms. Leave the highway on Steve Irwin Way, signposted Beerwah and Glass House Mountains Tourist Drive. At approx 4.8 km Beerburrum Rd to Mt Beerburrum Lookout on left. It's a short drive along this gravel road for approx 800 meters to the start of the Mount Beerburrum Lookout walk.

Route/Trail notes

Get to the track before lunchtime to enjoy your time at the top. Be prepared for a steep hike that doesn't end until you are at the top. Some seats along the way to take a rest on. Take plenty of water. In rain the gravel track maybe difficult for cars but ok for 4wheel drives. Great views from the first floor of the fire tower.

A steep walk on a concrete track. Met a couple on the way up who were coming down wearing thongs; it was tough enough wearing shoes. Good views from the top.

A steep walk which is graded all the way. Good for a bit of leg burning.
