We camped out during a spectacular storm that hit the south of Brisbane. It was quite majestic seeing the flashes of lightning in the distance and a little nerve-wracking wondering if the storm would come our way. The campsite had a bit more litter than we're used to, so we had some dark thoughts about whoever felt it was okay to deface the place like that. We did a cleanup and walked out everything we could the next day. The refuse station is conveniently located at the beginning of the walk. In short, it was a pleasant little stroll in and out of the site, and it was well equipped with water tanks, a hut, picnic bench and fire pit. It's a good spot to take young children just starting out as hikers.

Very easy walk to camp by trail. Great for people wanting to transition from car camping to overnight hiking without navigation experience (like me).

Do NOT park at the waste station. There is a dirt car park before it, on your left as you come in. Park there instead.

Did a overnight hike with my 4 year old daughter. Was perfect. Took her about 40 minutes each way. Marshmallows flowed like wine.

Took my son camping here, was a nice couple of days. Very easy walk in and out.

Walked in and stayed overnight with some friends and family as a shakedown for the 6 year olds. It's had a new shelter built that would provide some weather protection and is similar to the one at Scrub Road camp. It's definitely something I'd recommend as a quick overnight destination.

Easy walk along graded fire trail to the bush camp. Approx 20-25 minutes from Mt Nebo refuse tip.
The camping area is located right next to the fire trail & a new shelter has been constructed with twin water tanks. The water coming from the tanks looked quite clean and drinkable (after boiling of course).
The general camping area is quite dry and dusty. Camp sites are levelled areas in the dirt.
A designated fire pit with log seating surrounding it has been constructed.
Would be ok for an overnight stop or to test out some equipment.

Unlike the description (wrong spelling), Dundas Road bush camp isn't a remote bush camp (being just 2 Km from the road) and doesn't require any walking experience or fitness (flat dirt road).
It is indeed a great place to base yourself to go exploring other areas. The water coming out of the tank was almost black, but since you are so close to the car I don't see the point of using that water.

An easy walk along a well worn 4WD track. There is plenty of room at the campsite. A water tank is there and an established fire place is there and logs to sit on.

This is a great place to base yourself before exploring the other tracks that lead off from the campsite.
