Route/Trail notes

From the parking lot follow signs to the Ptarmigan Ridge trail via Chain Lakes trail. The whole trail is fairly flat at an altitude of 5100 feet with little change in altitude. The trail makes it way along the side of a steep slope. Look for mountain goats in the valley below or listen for pikas in the rubble near the trail. Trail is often snow-covered and can be hard to follow. Views of wide and deep valleys and Mount Shuksan. Trail ends with view of Coleman Pinnacle.

Permits/Costs

Entry fee for parking at the vistors' center.
